The popular talk presented by CEO Debbie Crowther FCA, B.Bus, at the annual CPA QLD conference in March has been launched for national viewing on the CPA website. Only twelve sessions from all conferences in Australia were filmed for national viewing and we are delighted that Debbie’s talk was chosen to be among that number.
A summary of the talk as outlined online is as follows:
“The accounting profession has changed over time. Clients are now starting to question the value and relevance of their accountants and there are many issues starting to impact the profession as a whole. Accountants on the other hand are so busy in keeping up with compliance, many are missing the issues that are building and could be left behind.
In this session, Ms Crowther covers issues including:
• What does the current industry look like and how has it evolved?
• What are the likely future challenges? (consideration of generational changes, technological implications, commoditisation, information overload)
• How can you address the challenges?
• What will happen if you don’t?”
